This page summarises the investigation and court history at a level the public record supports. Where the record is silent, we say so instead of filling the gap.
Only one of the five deaths has produced a murder conviction. The other four remain unresolved, which means no person has been convicted of those murders.
That distinction matters on every page of this site. Where a case is unresolved, nothing published here should be read as naming or implying an offender.
South Australia Police have investigated these deaths since 1979, with later review activity by Major Crime. The campaign's position is that families are entitled to a clear, current, written statement of where each investigation stands.
Court proceedings connected to these deaths are described on this site only from court records. Charges, acquittals, convictions, appeals and sentences are stated as the record states them, with no gloss.
A person acquitted of a charge is not guilty of that charge. We say so plainly wherever it applies.
The campaign asks for three things: a current written status for each case, a review of suppression orders that no longer serve a lawful purpose, and a fresh look at material held by the state that has never been publicly accounted for.
